Caden raises $15M to give users the option - VentureBeat    New York-based Caden, a data intelligence startup working to change how enterprises access and use consumer data, today announced $15 million in a series A round of funding. The company said it will use the capital to accelerate product development, hiring and go-to-market efforts. The investment has been led by Nava Ventures with participation from Jerry Yang’s AME Ventures, Streamlined Ventures, Montage Ventures, Industry Ventures, 1707 Capital and AAF Management. This brings the total capital raised by Caden to nearly $25 million. “With the support of our new and existing investors, we intend to transform the consumer data market by creating the most ethical, actionable and valuable data intelligence company in the world,” John Roa, the CEO and founder of the company, said in a press statement. Roa launched Caden almost five years after selling digital experience and engagement consultancy AKTA to Salesforce. Continued here Broadcast and cable make up less than half of TV usage for the first time ever - CNBC    Total traditional TV usage, comprised of broadcast and pay TV, dropped below 50% in July for the first time ever, according to Nielsen's monthly streaming report, The Gauge. Usage among pay-TV customers fell to 29.6% of TV, while broadcast dropped to a 20% share during the month. Streaming made up nearly 39% of usage in July, the largest share reported since Nielsen's first time reporting the monthly numbers in The Gauge in June 2021. Pay TV has steadily declined as consumers cut traditional bundles and opt for streaming. The rate of that drop-off has only accelerated since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, when streaming usage surged. This week, they officially retired the data series. Their final update, from Monday, showed 4,937 tech job cuts so far in August, based on data from Trueup.io. If the month continues at the same rate, there should be about 11,000 layoffs. That's well below the first six months of this year when there were more than 300,000 job losses in tech, or about 51,000 each month. "The Tech Job Recession is Over," the Bernstein analysts declared in a recent email to clients. "Tech layoffs have slowed to a trickle. When will the hirings start to reaccelerate?" Continued here
