One of his early shareholders just made Forbes' annual rundown of the 400 wealthiest Americans, largely because he owns Berkshire stock. Stewart Horejsi and his family are worth an estimated $3 billion, ranking them 379th on the latest Forbes 400 list published this week. They're officially richer than basketball icon Michael Jordan, former eBay CEO Meg Whitman, chewing-gum heir William Wrigley Jr, and even Buffett's business partner, Charlie Munger. Buffett himself ranked fourth on the Forbes list this year with a $121 billion fortune, even though he's gifted more than half his Berkshire shares to good causes. Both he and Horejsi have seen their fortunes grow this year, as Berkshire shares have surged to record highs in recent weeks. Continued here Signature Bank Taken Over By New York Community Bancorp After Sudden Collapse - Forbes    New York Community Bancorp has taken over Signature Bank and assumed most of its deposits, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation announced Sunday evening, one week after crypto-friendly Signature Bank and tech-focused Silicon Valley Bank both collapsed in the span of a few days—sending shockwaves through the U.S. financial system. New York Community Bancorp’s subsidiary Flagstar Bank will operate Signature Bank’s 40 branches starting Monday, and “substantially all” of Signature’s deposits—which totaled $88.6 billion at the end of last year—will head to Flagstar, though about $4 billion in digital banking deposits weren’t included in the sale and will still be handled by the FDIC. The company also bought $38.4 billion worth of loans and other assets previously held by Signature, though some $60 billion in loans will remain with the FDIC, which took over Signature after it was shut down by New York state regulators last weekend.
